Alicia Juniku Photography – Wilmington, North Carolina Family Photographer
Those early morning sun rays….they do love to hug us ever so gently. Don’t you think? The soft warm light of Carolina Beach in the morning was just right for the Brintle family. 6 am, the beach all to ourselves…except the early fishing sea birds. As a Family Photographer in Wilmington, North Carolina, I don’t think it gets much more lovely than this time.
We really are lo lucky to live by the ocean, and I think sometimes I take that for granted. I know many of my friends go to the beach almost every day….and yet I think I most often get there just for photo sessions. Something about sand in all the stuff kind of throws me off, you know? Also, because I know for certain that sunrise is the best (see: only) time to be at the beach, I find that my family is sometimes not so excited to get to the beach that early with me. Silly sleepy people.
Sometimes lighting test shots are my *favorite* shots. A quiet moment, a real moment, of love between them.
It’s amusing to me, being from Oregon, that the best time to be at the beach here in North Carolina is the morning. For photos, that is. Back home on the West Coast the best time is in the evening, with the sun going down over the waves. However, the feel of the beach in the morning is just so much softer, and I love that about the Carolina coast.
What do you think? Does the morning lend itself to softer photos? Or am I just being romantic?
Well, maybe I am being romantic. But I’m a photographer….it’s allowed.
