Why is my favorite photo of her in black and white? It seems outrageous, but it just had to be.
Alicia Juniku Photography – Wilmington Family Photographer
As a Wilmington family photographer, it brings me so much joy to spend time with families like these delightful group. Last year when I spent a photo afternoon with this dear family, her hair was fire red, but so short! Who knew the not only would there be red hair this year, but curls to boot. Be still my photographer’s heart! I love this family….I love their photos. Can you tell?
Family photo sessions are a big deal to me, and as a family photographer they are all the more so important when these same families come back to me year after year. I get to spend a few hours with them, thinking about how they were last year and marveling at how much they’ve grown since I last saw them. She’s talking! IN COMPLETE SENTENCES! I suppose if I got to see them more often the change wouldn’t be as jarring, but these few hours every year, they are cross-sections of her life. This is one of the things I love about this work, this love-filled joyful work. I see her life as stop motion…..for everyone else she grows in millimeters, but for me she grows in feet.
See! I was totally not kidding. Now you know that I don’t mess around. I think this has brought us closer, you know?
The epic photographer triumph: lovely photo of child *and* her dog.
We did get a photo of everyone looking at the camera….those are mandatory for sending to Grandma and Grandpa. But I prefer this one. I would rather have a photo of a family lovingly interacting with each other rather than smiling at the camera.
Hey there! You made it all the way to the end! That means you, my friend, see things through, and I like that about you. We should totally do photos.
